Workshop: Workshop "Inspiration and Innovation through Origami Technology"/ Origami Mechanisms
Institute: Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research- ISC
City: Würzburg

Kristina Wißling was invited to give a technical presentation followed by a workshop at the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research Würzburg. In addition, external visitors from various industries, such as the automotive industry, were invited to the In-House event. The technical presentation "Origami Technology - Modern Science and Applications in Design, Research and Industry" and the following "Hand-On" Workshop „Inspiration and Innovation through Origami Technology“ focused on the potentials, applications and future fields of folding techniques.
Industrially applied folding techniques provide unique and efficient solutions and offer significantly more possibilities than conventional techniques. The fascinating folded structures based on origami technology are diverse and complex, and are used in the aerospace, entertainment, healthcare and security industries. Also among others, offering novel techniques for minimizing and maximizing objects and surfaces.
