Kristina Wißling was invited to give a public lecture in the category: "Inspired by Technology - Meet the Builders of Quality" at the Creative Business Week in Munich.
Kristina Wisslings presentation "Origami - Modern Science and Applications in Design, Research and Industry" with the main topic "Origami Technology" included the traditional Japanese paper folding art, which began in the 17th century and is now relevant for the development of applications in science and technology.
In addition, an insight into her work - the development of innovative methods to minimize and maximize objects and surfaces of existing and new products. Here the focus is not only on two- or three-dimensional objects, but also on static or flexible folding solutions - matching the needs and goals of the customers. Origami folding techniques today open doors between art, science, technology and design, and enhance the development of applications in different branches of the industry: from lightweight construction to airbag and from artificial arteries to outer space.
The mcbw lectures with high- caliber series of presentations by well-known speakers were part of the special exhibition "mcbw moments" - Denkräume für Design ". They formed a "thinking space " for the expression of visions, surprising ideas, convincing mindsets and new directions. The aim was, to promote discourse about and examination of socially-relevant topics, as well as simply to inspire, inform, pass on knowledge and expertise, provide opportunities to network and engage in discussion. The mcbw lectures formed a forum for the interface between designers and companies.
The lecture series: From the small to big, from sound to image, from the visible to the invisible - Design is effective with Kristina Wißling, Andreas Maxbauer and Martha Bahla was organized by the Allianz Deutscher Designer.
