Kristina Wißling was invited to give a presentation at the Packaging Impact Design Award "PIDA" of the Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs in Ludwigsburg.
In a seminar program, expert lectures alternated with well staged student presentations of the best competition entries. Kristina Wißling's lecture „The new folding codes - origami techniques for design, research and industry " included folding techniques in packaging design and origami techniques in a technical context. Professor Klemens Skibicki presented marketing strategies in the digital age, Hannes Schmidt presented the history and marketing strategy of Boar Gin.
An award ceremony for the best design idea rounded off the event in Ludwigsburg. Previously, designs had been presented by students from the universities of Stuttgart, Munich, Leipzig and Sheffield Hallam University. The packaging concept "Watch Out" from the Stuttgart Media University won the "Gold Award" with the title "challenge the conventional".
The PIDA Award from the Swedish cartonboard manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs from Sweden is awarded annually. Kristina Wißling was previously invited to hold a presentation on folding techniques in packaging design and in the packaging industry at the event of the German Packaging Institute in Dresden.
