The OriLab is a growing collection of research, ideas, materials and production techniques related to geometry and folding. Kristina Wißling uses this knowledge to develop concepts in collaboration with brands and companies for a range of applications, from product development to styling, packaging design, exhibition design and automotive interiors. We design 3D folds in a range of materials including paper, synthetic papers, textiles, metal and wood, as well as 2D folds that are replicated through printing.
In OriLab we conceive and realize self-initiated artistic and research projects. The Lab serves as an in-depth exploration of design-specific issues and interfaces with other disciplines. As an accelerator for topics that we find relevant within the technology of folding and would like to push forward in the longer term. In the Lab, we work on issues and develop our own working methods over a longer period of time.
