Studio Kristina Wißling hosts creative workshops for universities, companies, brands and charities. The online workshops are taught by Kristina Wißling, designer & folding specialist, who has teaching experience since 2008, and welcomed more than 300 participants in her lectures & workshops.
All workshops are currently held via Zoom, or on your preferred plattform like BigBlueButton, or GoToWebinar. Sessions are live or can be pre-recorded for a larger group of people, depending on your requirements.
For a simple set-up, participants get a PDF workbook with folding instructions and crease pattern to Print at home. For a more tailored experience, bespoke folding kits can be sent in advance, including materials suited to the shapes in your chosen workshop. The kits also include a workbook, a goodie and a certifikate. In addition the participants have access to Kristina`s Alumni FB Group.

Bespoke Origami Kits
For a simple set-up in an online workshop, participants can print out templates at home in advance of the event. For a more tailored experience, bespoke and specially designed DIY origami kits can be sent in advance of the event, including materials and tools to match the structures to be folded in your chosen workshop. Depending on the workshop, an origami kit consists of a goodie bag, a workbook, patterns that will be folded, tools, a certificate and a gimmick. For the shapes to be folded we use Canson and high quality papers from Arjowiggins.

We are also happy to join your preferred plattform, such as Webex, BigBlueButton or GoToWebinar. We use a two camera set up, so you can see Kristina, as well as a top down view of what she is folding. The folding sessions can be live or exclusively pre-recorded. Participants also have access to Kristinas Alumni FB Group to know and help each other.

Depending on which kind of workshop you choose, but we can customise the event to meet you requirements. We can also do a series of workshops where participants learn to make more complex shapes and learn more folding techniques. It is possible to organise larger working groups in Microsoft Teams to work together, for critique sessions and video feedback.

WHAT LEVEL OF SKILL IS REQUIRED? The workshops are open to designers, artists, illustrators, students and professionals of all levels of expertise. Beginners, as well as more experienced attendees are welcome.
ARE THESE THEORECTICAL LECTURES OR HANDS-ON SESSIONS? Both. The workshop includes roughly 50% theoretical input and 50% hands-on sessions and exercises.

Teaching workshops and classes since 2008, Kristina Wißling has trained hundreds of students that want to learn paper folding and origami engineering. Lecture groups range from architecture and design students to research and development departments in companies. Kristina Wißling combines her talents as both a designer and a folding specialist in the construction and design of folding patterns. Based in South Westphalia, she runs one of german`s leading studios in geometry and folding techniques, and has been able to run numerous workshops focusing on geometry and folding at ETH Zurich, Bauhaus University Weimar, RWTH Aachen, Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, for Durable, Miele, and Sachsenröder, among many others.
Kristina Wißling earned her diploma in communication design at the FH in Dortmund. Since then, she has dedicated a large part of her time to teaching folding techniques and origami engineering.

The hand-on workshops are a great chance to get to know the secrets of paperfolding. They are tailored for beginners as well as for those with previous experience who want to improve their techniques to paperfolding. You will walk away from the sessions with a sharper eye when working with origami and with practical tools to improve your own work. Starting work as a Freelance Designer in 2008 in Germany- South Westphalia, I have already welcomed over 500 attendees in public workshops who want to learn more about geometric paperfolding.

Work in an company or agency has a fast pace. There isn`t always time to experiment with new techniques to make good work or a good product even better. The hands-on, intensive, in-house workshops provide effective techniques and insights into working with structures and folding techniques, many of which can become innovative starting points for creative work, and provide a valuable perspective from which to deal with design briefs.
The In-House workshops are tailored to the specific needs of the group and its creative focus and are structured to expand the participant`s skill set. The content is flexible so it is even possible to design one that fits the training needs of the team. I provide individual guidance on each person`s project and all participants will receive a workbook with crease pattern, a certificate, and a goodie.
